Pros and cons of Bike Gear Calculator - Bike Gears, Cycling Gear Calculator, Bicycle Gear Calculator app for iPhone and iPad

Bike Gear Calculator - Bike Gears, Cycling Gear Calculator, Bicycle Gear Calculator app good for

Great app, very useful. Interface isnt optimized for iPhone 6+ though. Kinda reminds me of that world on Super Mario Bros 3 where everything is giant
I was impressed that the app includes what appears to be every tire size on the planet. I also liked the ability to compare two setups and the charting feature. In the end, however, I couldnt use the app as it doesnt include hub gears.
Only suggestion would be able to delete manually added tire sizes. Nice display and easy to use. The new update is way better. Calculates all the gears! Can add unusual tire sizes by measuring circumference for specialty bikes like fatbikes with large tires. Can save settings for each bike.

Some bad moments

This app hasnt been updated in over two years, in needs to be updated for iOS 10. Dont spend a penny on app until developer addresses this.
You have taken the trouble to include numerous rim sizes but have excluded the 349 rim size which are used by many recumbents, the popular Brompton and Mezzo bikes.
Now I know I need to go with triple crankset not double. Got all the info I need. Money well spent.
All the standard information is available for almost any conceivable setup. Its not currently possible to display all the usual measurements in traditional schizophrenic units at the same time (i.e. gear-inches and speed in English units and development in centimeters), but the info can be easily found.
Easy to learn--a few minutes on the support site-- and fun to use. I like the interplay of gear selection with cadence, speed, distance, time, etc., as a way to quantify what is largely an intuitive process on the bike. Would be even better with the addition of gradient into the mix.
If you are in doubts about what bike gearing to use, This awesome app will help you. It is a great app to play with. Some things were totally new to me. Good job!
